În luna februarie, lasă-te de fumat!

Zilele trecute, un prieten bun mi-a povestit despre o prietenă bună de-a lui care a scăpat de obiceiul de a fuma în numai … două zile. Am auzit multe poveşti cu oameni care încearcă să se lase de fumat şi ştiu ce greu este să reuşeşti aşa ceva, dărămite să o faci într-un timp atât de scurt. Aşa că după ce mi-a explicat cum a scăpat Maria de fumat în numai două şedinţe de terapie, i-am promis prietenului meu că voi vorbi despre asta pe blog pentru că mi se pare o şansă de neratat pentru cei care nu mai vor să fumeze. Am intrat în legătură cu Maria, care a locuit o vreme în Bucureşti şi care acum este în Madrid, şi am rugat-o să-mi spună istoricul ei cu fumatul şi cum a reuşit să scape de acest obicei. După ce vă las, mai jos, cu rândurile scrise de Maria, vă spun cum puteţi avea şi voi acces la această terapie, chiar aici, la Bucureşti, între 21 şi 24 februarie.

When did you start smoking, why did you smoke, how many packs of cigs a day and for how many years did you do that?

I started smoking at the age of 18 and I started smoking because all my friends did so too. At the time, I probably only smoked 7 cigarettes. I smoked until I was in my thirties when I quit for the first time, but it lasted only 5 months. Then, I quit now, this past October 2013, at the age of 47.

 How did smoking make you feel?

When I was younger, it made me feel cool, important, but once I hit my thirties, I just didn’t like the fact that I smoke. Moreover, when you have a child, you start thinking about them too.

 Which were the good things about smoking and which were the bad things about smoking?

I really don’t think there is anything good about smoking, I truly believe it’s a terrible addiction and extremely harmful to our system and health.

When did you decide the smoking needs to stop and why did you decide that?

I’ve always wanted to quit smoking, I’ve just never had the will power to do it. But it’s really since my little son Alvaro, which is 9 years old, started to beg me to quit smoking about a year ago.

 What other methods of quitting did you try up the moment when you met the therapist?

I have tried cold turkey on my own nad, I also visited Dr. Sarquis in Buenos Aires, Argentina with a laser therapy, that was the time it worked the longest, 5 months.

Why is it that you did not manage to quit smoking by yourself and why do you think it is not easy for people to succed by themselves?

I strongly and truly believe that it is impossible to quit smoking unless you are mentally ready and willing to do so, or there is a strong fear for a health problem. Sorito’s therapy just makes it so simple and easy, there are no side effects, anxiety or the worse of all craving for cigarettes. I also know that there is no such thing as a part time smoker. Or you smoke, or you don’t, and once you quit, you will always be an ex-smoker and will be at risk of falling again for the rest of your life.

How did you find out about the therapist and did you think when you were told you will quit smoking in no time?

I found out about Sorito last March, 2013, in Doha, Qatar, through a Spanish friend of mine, Natalia, who was living in Doha. One day, at a party, she came with me to have a smoke and told me that she had quit 2 years ago when she smoked 2 packs of cigarettes a day. I, as soon I as I moved here, to Madrid, this past June, I started thinking of contacting her.

How do you remember your first meeting with the therapist?

I remember it as the easiest thing I’ve ever done in my life, the first session was just 10 minutes and remember that I had a hard time thinking it actually could work.

How many times did you meet her?

I met her twice, in 2 easy and simple sessions.

What happened after the first session?

She told me, after my first 10 minutes session, to go home and to continue smoking then to come back, the next day, with 7 cigarettes. And so I did.

What happened after you saw her for the last time?

In my second session, which lasted about 30 minutes, I lied down and after placing her hands on the back of my neck, chest, back, forehead and feet, it was almost like hypnotizing, we took the elevator from the hotel downstairs with my 7 cigarettes and she brought a candle and a cigarette pipe. She lit my first cigarette, she passed it to me and told me that I had to smoke that cigarette all the way to the end without sitting down, drinking water or even leaning against the wall, that this cigarette was stil part of the end of the therapy. After that cigarette, I could smoke up to the 6 other cigarettes, but it had to be CHAIN SMOKING, meaning one after the other until I finish them all. I only smoked two more, and not complete, because I got sick to my stomach.

What did she say about the reasons that made you a heavy smoker?

There are so many reasons for smoking, smoking little or being a heavy smoker. From anxiety, stress, work, there is a large list of reasons, but the secret is that after you quit smoking is to change that habit to another one, a healthy one.

How much time did it pass since you have not smoked at all?

Since October 2013, approximately 3 months.

Is there any chance for you to go back smoking?

As I mentioned earlier, an ex-smoker will never be a non smoker, therefore we are at risk at any given day, in any moment, it’s just a matter of a mind trigger. I surely hope I won’t do it ever again, I don’t miss it anymore and this for me makes it so much easier.

How much money did you save a month since you are not smoking anymore and how did you invest those money?

A lot of money, considering that a pack of cigarettes, here in Spain, is 4,80 euros and I would be buying a pack a day, so approximately 432,00 euros. But most important I’ve gained it in health. Most likely I’ll probably treat myself to some trip this summer.

Dr. Sorito, cea care aplică terapia prin care Maria a scăpat de fumat, iar prietenul meu a scăpat de dependenţa de dulce, va veni la Bucureşti între 21 şi 24 februarie. Ea va lua până la maxim 15 pacienţi pe care îi va întâlni în două sau trei şedinţe, în intervalul respectiv, după cum are nevoie fiecare. O şedinţă de terapie are o durată de maxim 45 de minute. Este bine de ştiut că, pe lângă dependenţa de tutun, Dr. Sorito tratează şi adicţia de alcool sau droguri. Tehnica ei se bazează pe reglarea lichidului cefalorahidian şi a fost dezvoltată în SUA în anii 1930 şi recunoscută de medicina tradiţională în 1950, însă nu este răspândită la scară largă pentru că nu este uşor de aplicat, iar Dr. Sorito este unul dintre puţinii care o face ca la carte.

Am făcut acest interviu şi vă recomand această terapie pentru că am încredere în prietenul meu, este, cum s-ar spune, genul de om pe mâna căruia mergi şi experienţa lui pozitivă, dar şi a Mariei m-au făcut să vorbesc despre această practică fără să am îndoiala că sunt trasă pe sfoară pentru vreun motiv anume. Aşa că, din bună credinţă, prietenul meu mi-a spus că cei dintre voi interesaţi să urmeze această terapie îşi pot rezerva un loc cu menţiunea că ştiţi de eveniment de la mine astfel încât în loc de preţul întreg de 175 de euro, veţi plăti 120 euro, dar este important să menţionaţi numele meu.
