Disclose some tips and tricks on how to raise a business via Facebook.

Talk about your prospect’s problem BEFORE talking about your solution. People are now busier than ever and ignore most adverts. Your posts need to engage the reader by talking about what we all want to hear about – OURSELVES! Catch their interest by talking about their problems and then discuss your solution.

Target your audience. Facebook’s audience targeting allows you to choose who sees your post. It could be women in your town who are aged 35 years old, it may be financial planners living in New York, or it could be people who are interested in personal development around the world. Advertising has never been more targeted in the history of business.

Grow your email list. Most traffic to your Facebook page or website is wasted. The smartest marketers will encourage those visitors to sign up to an email list so that they can send more messages in the future. It is said that 80% of sales are made on the back-end, so apply an email capture box to your Facebook page (or link to one) immediately.

Many businesses already use Facebook as a tool to promote themselves. What are the most common mistakes business owners make in this aspect?

Mistake #1: Asking for Page Likes – this is a huge myth that most business are a victim of. Facebook now want business to pay for advertising to reach your Page Fans. This means if you are paying to get people to Like your page, you then also have to pay for those Fans to see your posts. Page likes don’t mean profits. Most businesses forget that the goal is to make sales, not look the most popular.

Mistake #2: Offering nothing of value to the reader first. The best companies will give before asking for something in return. It could be some useful information, or a trial of your services. In the new economy you need to show the prospects that you can get them results first to gain their trust.

Mistake #3: Not paying for FB Ads, or doing them wrong. Most business are afraid to invest in adverts. You must invest in your business to make it successful, and Facebook gives you the most targeted advertising at the lowest investment. It actually costs an average of $0.25 to reach 1000 people on Facebook, compared to $3.75 to reach 1000 people with Google, and $35 to reach 1000 people with Newspaper adverts. The business who say they have tried paying for adverts and it didn’t work failed to make an effective advert. When you know the psychology behind creating an advert that sells you will have a huge advantage over your competition.
